“I project the daily flag round on the board to start class — the kids race to call out countries. The per-continent quizzes line up perfectly with whatever region we are covering that week.”

“The shareable score grid is gold for our pub quiz group chat. Everyone posts their daily 8/10 and trash-talks. It quietly became our warm-up ritual before trivia night.”

“Most flag quizzes only do flags. Being able to switch to country outlines and capitals in the same place is what keeps me here — the outline mode is genuinely hard.”

“I used the hard mode to drill the African flags I always mixed up before a model-UN trip. Two weeks of daily rounds and I finally stopped confusing Chad and Romania.”

“Loads instantly, no sign-up, no nonsense. I do one round on the bus every morning. The fact that it remembers nothing and just lets me play is the whole appeal.”

Why GuessName?

Most flag quizzes only do flags, lock you behind ads after one round, or make you sign up. GuessName is a single, fast hub where you can guess the country from its flag, its outline or its capital, filter by continent or difficulty, and play a fresh daily challenge — all free, all in your browser, nothing saved.

It's built for the way people actually learn geography: short, repeatable rounds with a shareable result, so a quick game on the bus turns into knowing every flag on the map.

How do you play GuessName?
Pick a mode — flag, map outline, capital city or the daily challenge — and you get one prompt at a time with four country options. Choose the right one, build your score over ten rounds, then share your result grid.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
It is completely free and there is no sign-up. Nothing is saved and no login is required — just open a quiz and play.
Where do the flags and maps come from?
Flags are from the open-source flag-icons set and country outlines are from Natural Earth — both public-domain / permissively licensed. Everything runs in your browser with no external API.
How many country flags are there to guess?
There are 194 country flags in the game (the UN member states), playable as a full world quiz or filtered by continent and difficulty.
